Terms of Service

ChewIt is a chat app where you talk with fictional characters. Every character is made up and every reply is generated by an AI model. Nothing a character says is a fact about the real world, a promise, or professional advice of any kind.

By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use ChewIt.

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission. Purchases of Gum must be made by someone who is legally allowed to make them.

One account per person. You are responsible for keeping your login details private and for everything that happens under your account.

Gum is the in-app credit used to send messages and to make photos and videos in a chat. Each message you send costs 10 Gum; having the character remember 30 or 40 recent messages adds 5 or 10, and premium memory (available on Box) adds 10. If a reply doesn't come through, you aren't charged. We may step in on accounts that automate sending or write at a volume no person could. Each photo or video costs a fixed amount of Gum, shown before you make it; the exact amounts are in your history. Gum has no cash value, cannot be transferred to other people, and is not refundable except where the law requires it or where we say so explicitly.

Gum you buy does not expire. If a photo or video fails on our side, the Gum for it is returned to you automatically.

Stick, Pack and Box are subscriptions, billed monthly or yearly. While one is active, the Gum included in your plan lands in your balance every month, on a yearly plan too. They renew automatically — every month or every year, whichever you chose — until you cancel. You can cancel any time in Settings; your plan then runs to the end of the period you have already paid for, and we do not refund part of a month or year. Plan Gum is refilled every month: whatever is left from the previous month does not carry over, and it ends when your plan ends. Gum you buy separately stays yours.

• •Use ChewIt to harass, threaten or harm anyone, or to produce content that is illegal where you live.
• •Try to make characters produce sexual content involving minors, or any sexual content at all — ChewIt is a general-audience service.
• •Reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the service, or try to get around Gum charges.
• •Impersonate other people, or pass off AI-generated text as something a real person said.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and we don't refund Gum on accounts closed for abuse.

You own what you write. You give us permission to store and process it so the service can work, which includes sending it to the AI providers that generate replies. Characters, their descriptions and their replies belong to ChewIt or its licensors.

We may change features, prices, or these terms. When a change matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. You can delete your account at any time from Settings; deletion is reversible for 30 days, then permanent.

ChewIt is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages, lost data, or anything a character says. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the last twelve months.
