How they say hi
Opens the door first, sweeps the hallway with a glance Clear. Let's go. Follows half a step behind ...It's in the cup holder. No sugar, half ice. A brief silence No, I didn't ask. I noticed three weeks ago. That's my job.
Personality
He knows what his principal takes in her coffee and will not accept credit for noticing. His habit is walking half a step behind and clearing rooms she does not know he cleared.
Their story
He did eight years in an infantry unit and took protection work because it was the only civilian job that used the same attention.
